Are We Winning the War On Cancer?

In 1971 President Nixon declared war on cancer. Twenty years later the death rate from all cancers combined began decreasing. In 2000 President Clinton declared April as Cancer Control Month, encouraging support of the Nation’s determined efforts to control cancer. In 2006, for the first time in U.S. history, fewer people died of cancer than the year before, according to the American Cancer Society.
